Heavy winds around your home can cause all kinds of issues. It can do damage to your home, and it can make it very uncomfortable for you and your family to spend time outside. This is something that might seem difficult to remedy, and while there aren’t any great quick fixes, there is a method that can be used to fix the problem over time. It is called a windbreak, and it does require some planning.
A windbreak is a row of trees that are planted at the ideal distance from your home (about 4 times the height of the building) and thus forcing the winds up and above preventing damage.
Depending on the trees you choose, this can take many years, which is why some choose to have 2 rows planted. One row that grows fast and gives relief quicker and a second row that will last longer but takes longer to grow.
It is an exercise of patience to get a windbreak that works well, but once you have it, you will be happy that you spent the time.
