Have you ever lived in a home where there is carpet in the bathroom? Usually this is something that you will only find in older homes, and while some might enjoy having warm feet in the bathroom, the downsides to bathroom carpet are just too many to ignore. The first thing that comes to mind is the issue with cleanliness. Bathroom carpet can quickly become contaminated from several different sources, and without a thorough steam cleaning, you will not be able to remove the bacteria that inevitably will be flourishing in the warm, moist environment.
There is also a risk of mold growth in or underneath the carpet. This can go undetected for a long period of time and be both expensive and difficult to remedy. The problem is that removing your carpet might be quite a large project, since you would need to replace it with a more sanitary alternative, such as tile.
