Even though you keep your home clean, you may at some point get indoor ants. Here are a few steps to help you to get of those indoor ants.

The first step is to try to identify what is attracting the ants inside your home. Do you have dirty dishes in your sink? Is there a drip on a side of a jar? It could even be your dog or cat food dishes. Try to first clean up those areas to see if the ants return.

Another step you will want to take is to get rid of the scouting ants’ trails. You cannot simply wipe ants away, because these scouting ants leave behind pheromones so that other ants can find these trails. You can eliminate these trails by spraying the areas with a mixture of one part vinegar to three parts water.

After these steps, you will want to try to repel the ants from returning to your home. You can use a product with boric acid, make sure you read the instructions very carefully because some of these products can be harmful to pets and children, or you could use a natural spray made up of a mixture of peppermint or lavender oil with water to spray the ants’ entry points into your home.

These few steps will help to eliminate those pesky indoor ants.
